HOLIDAY HOUSE ISABELLA

Isabella is calling, you can relax.

About us

Holiday house Isabella is located on island of Šolta, near Split. To be precise, house took its place in bay Šumpjiivna which is one of the eight bays of the largest bay and the youngest place on island - Nečujam.

Holiday house Isabella is located on a family estate that has been in existence for generations. It was built in 1973 as a result of the hard and arduous work of previous generations and is continuously upgraded and modernized by the efforts of the younger family members.

The house is situated below the family olive grove, which consists of around 30 trees of the indigenous Šolta olive variety – Levantinka or Šoltanka. The island of Šolta is known for this type of olive, and it produces high-quality olive oil that guests can taste at the estate. Beside olive trees, the estate also has fig and carob trees, which are also native representatives of Dalmatian flora.

One of the estate's unique features is the presence of dry stone walls called “suhozidi”, which are built by stacking stones without the use of binding materials. These walls have been recognized and included in UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity. As you are already imagining walking through the olive grove, you will come across a small stone house at its heart, also built in the dry stone construction style. This house was traditionally used by family members, mainly the head of the family, who would come to harvest the olives and needed a place to rest or spend the night. Today, this house is suitable for those who enjoy Robinson-style tourism, providing an option to spend a night under the open sky if you tired of staying in the main house.

Besides olive cultivation, old families on Šolta survived by producing salt using natural stone depressions and storing water in cisterns. Both the stone depressions for salt and the cisterns can still be seen on the estate.

The house is located 20m from the beach where you can swim undisturbed in the clear sea or explore by sailing on a SUP. Although it is in the center of the bay, the house has secured parking for two cars. The spacious terrace offers a hot tub for complete relaxation and an outdoor shower. There is also a 40m² open terrace ideal for sunbathing, and for those who prefer shade, there is a 20m² covered terrace. Under the covered part of the terrace, there is an outdoor kitchen with a wood and electric grill, perfect for preparing delicious meals and enjoying summer evenings. By arrangement with the host, it is also possible to prepare dishes under the "peka", a traditional Dalmatian specialty.

The family also owns a small boat, which is still used for family fishing in the winter. During the summer, guests, in the agreement with the host, have the opportunity to tour the bay of Nečujam, where they can see the ruins of Diocletian's fish pond and the remains of a sunken sailing ship.

The interior of the house consists of two bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with three single beds), a bathroom, a living room, and a kitchen. In the house there are also two air conditioning units, Wi-Fi, an ice maker, a coffee machine, a washing machine, and more.

The house is available from mid-May to the end of October, as the weather conditions are most suitable for rest and relaxation by the sea during this period.

Although you might be concerned about the accessibility of the terrain, the house is located 2 km from the main town of Grohote and 4 km from the ferry port in Rogač. In Grohote, you will find shops, a pharmacy, a clinic, a post office, and cafes, all of which are a short drive away on a paved road. As mentioned at the beginning, the house is perfect for relaxing on the beach and sea vacation, away from crowds and hustle.
